Essential oils are an environmentally friendly alternative to air fresheners and have added health benefits, such as the treatment for headaches and anxiety. However, in order to get the most out of essential oils, it is best to maintain the diffuser. This is simple enough to do by cleaning it about once a month. An essential oil diffuser that is not cleaned regularly will begin to falter by not producing as much mist. It may begin to signal its need for some TLC by making a grinding sound.
Here are three steps to cleaning an essential oil diffuser:
1. Daily Cleaning.
Please clean the ultrasonic plate regularly for best performance. Normally you can clean the diffuser with warm water.
2. Wipe the inside of the diffuser.
If essential oil begins to build up on the ultrasonic plate of the Diffuser, gently wipe it off using the cleaning sponge or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. Give special attention to the sensor inside the diffuser. (It’s in the deepest part of the bowl).
If essential oil begins to build up on the lid of the Diffuser, gently wipe it off using mild soap and water only.
3. Dry the outside of the diffuser.
Wipe the outside of the diffuser with a damp cloth, removing any smudges on the surface. Be careful not to get any water on the bottom of the pot. Once the diffuser is dry, add water to the inside, following up with a few drops of your essential oils of choice, and relax with some aromatherapy.
